Northern's Allied Health Certificate, offered on the main campus in Aberdeen, S.D., provides knowledge and skills you'll need as you work toward a career in the health care field.

Contemporary issues

In the NSU art education program, you’ll learn advanced visual design skills and use traditional studio media and tools, within the enriching context of a liberal arts curriculum. Graduates are prepared to enter the art field as professional K-12 teachers or to attend graduate school.

In NSU’s studio and lab classrooms, you’ll receive broad exposure to art history, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, painting, drawing, design and mixed media.

Starting January 2023, Northern’s Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in Art Education degree is a summer residency, practice-oriented, primarily online degree program designed for educators who are already teaching art in K-12 schools.

Northern's Arts Administration Certificate is geared toward students seeking a bachelor's degree in the liberal arts or in business. The goal of this unique, cooperative venture of the School of Business and School of Fine Arts is to provide you with the essential skills to successfully enter the arts administration job market.

Offered on campus and online, Northern's banking and financial services degree program has the strong support of area professionals who provide internships and part-time work for our banking and financial services students; employ NSU graduates; and serve on the NSU Bank Advisory Board.

Our faculty have extensive experience in money center and community commercial banking organizations - and expertise in lending, bank operations, bank management, investments, financial planning, trust operations, law, and bank regulation.

In Northern’s entirely online Master of Science in Banking and Financial Services program, you’ll study the business of banking. You’ll learn how bankers best serve customers’ financial needs through business performance evaluations. You’ll also study the inner workings of banking and financial institutions, and the economic environment in which they operate.

Graduates are prepared for careers in all aspects of the financial services industry: commercial banking, insurance, credit unions, investments, regulation and consumer finance.
