ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University has officially unveiled a brand new institutional logo.
The new logo, which includes a capital “N” and boldfaced “NORTHERN” can already be found on the NSU website, social media accounts and other marketing materials. In addition, Northern now officially owns the trademark for its widely known wolf mark and is actively pursuing the trademark for the new institutional mark (N-Northern).
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s renowned music instructors will show off their talents at the annual NSU School of Fine Arts Faculty Showcase Recital on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The showcase, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater, will include an array of solo and chamber performances by NSU music faculty.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University has decided to cancel the 105th annual NSU Gypsy Day Parade, as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 virus.
The decision was made after careful consideration, involving discussions with state and local health care officials. In addition, Northern reached out to select parade participants, and also factored in the recent suspension of the 2020 college athletics season due to COVID-19.
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will commemorate the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote with a celebratory march through campus, a historical speech re-enactment and an exhibit of artifacts from the time period. 
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University Professor of History Dr. Steven Usitalo has participated in two recent international workshops, and also has a book chapter and article forthcoming in separate publications.
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s TRIO Student Support Services program has been awarded a grant that will provide additional student services – including a new financial literacy curriculum and work-based opportunities in South Dakota's in-demand industries.
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University student William Ellwanger received national recognition at a virtual Phi Beta Lambda event this summer.
Ellwanger earned eighth place in the “Contemporary Sports Issues” category at the PBL National Leadership Experience, which took place in June.
