ABERDEEN, S.D. — Northern State University students are preparing for the annual back-to-school bash, the Community Block Party, previously known as COLLEGEpalooza. The event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Malchow Plaza. It promises an evening filled with fun, networking, and a chance to discover what the Aberdeen community has to offer.
This year marks the eighth year of this vibrant celebration, aimed at integrating Northern State University students with the local culture and opportunities. More than 50 local businesses and organizations will participate, offering insights into their products, services, and potential job opportunities. The first 100 students to arrive will receive a $20 Aberdeen gift card, courtesy of several local banks, along with a multitude of other free giveaways.
The event is the result of collaborative efforts between the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce and Northern State University, demonstrating the strong community ties that enrich student experiences outside the classroom. It is free and open to the public, providing a perfect occasion for community members and students to interact in a dynamic setting.
For businesses interested in reserving table space, a $40 fee applies. Please contact the Chamber at info@aberdeen-chamber.com for more details and registration.
We invite all Northern State University students and the Aberdeen community to join us at Malchow Plaza, located at 506 South Main Street, to celebrate the start of the new academic year in style.
