ABERDEEN, S.D. – “Germany Making Choices: A Celebration of Business Relations Between Germany and South Dakota” will be held at Northern State University from Oct. 23 to 26. The events are being funded primarily by the Federal Republic of Germany.

Events being held during this conference include the South Dakota German Business Summit, Round Table Discussions, Internship/Study Abroad in Germany Info Fair, as well as a student field trip to AKG Northern American Operations in Mitchell.

Schedule:

Monday, Oct. 23: Internship/Study Abroad in Germany Info Fair held in the Student Center from noon to 3 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 24: Round Table Discussion: “Should Aberdeen Have a German Sister City?,” in the Beulah Williams Library Round Room from noon to 1:30 p.m. Featured speakers include Dr. Timothy Downs, president of NSU; Gail Ochs, president of Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce; Casey Weismantel, executive director of Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau; Marne Neiger, project manager with Horsch LLC; Mike Bockorny, CEO for the Aberdeen Development Corporation, and Dr. Ginny Lewis, professor of German at NSU.

Wednesday, Oct. 25: South Dakota German Business Summit held in the Lincoln Hall Gallery from noon to 1:30 p.m. Featured presentations will be given by Wurth Electronics, a German company from Watertown, and Horsch LLC, a German company from Mapleton, N.D.

Thursday, Oct. 26: Student field trip to AKG Northern American Operations in Mitchell.

This conference is free and open to NSU students and the community.
