Students, faculty and staff,

We have been notified that a staff person who, last week, spent time in Great Plains East and limited time in Great Plains West, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Due to privacy laws, we are unable to share the identity of the individual.

The campus areas in which that person visited last week are being thoroughly cleaned. It is advised that anyone in these areas of campus begin to immediately self-monitor (check temperature twice a day and watch for symptoms of COVID-19) and wear a mask when around others. If you develop any COVID-19 symptoms, please immediately quarantine yourself and consult your health care provider.

Everyone on campus is encouraged to wear a mask, social distance and take preventative steps in order to stop and slow the spread of COVID-19.

Today’s message is a reminder that we must remain hyper-vigilant as we move forward with bringing staff back to campus and preparing for the fall semester.

Our campus community is dependent on all of us doing the right thing and looking out for one another. We are truly in this together. Please check with your supervisor(s) if you have any questions or concerns.

For faculty or staff who may be struggling with the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic, our Employee Assistance Program is available. For students, the NSU Counseling Center is now offering virtual counseling sessions. For further information on COVID-19, visit northern.edu/coronavirus.

Please take care,

NSU Senior Leadership
