ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Symphonic Band and Concert Band will perform their “Band Extravaganza II: A Musical Smorgasbord!” concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center’s Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater.

This free concert will feature a large variety of band favorites.

Featured pieces being performed in the concert include “Havendance and Scootin’ on Hardrock” by David Holsinger; medleys from “West Side Story” and “Slava” by Leonard Bernstein; “Jupiter Chorale” and “Mars” from Gustav Holst’s “The Planets”; as well as Meredith Willson’s “76 Trombones” from “The Music Man.”

The NSU Concert Band is directed by Dr. Audrey Miller and the Symphonic Band is directed by Dr. Rolf Olson.
