ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University proudly announces that its swim team has been recognized as a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the spring 2024 semester. The team achieved an impressive cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.83, ranking them second among NCAA Division II schools and tying them for sixth place across all NCAA divisions.

This prestigious honor is awarded to teams that achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher during the semester. Northern State University's swim team's 3.83 GPA is a testament to the student-athletes' dedication and commitment to excelling both in their academic and athletic endeavors.

“It is a great honor to see our team recognized for their academic achievements. We have seen academic and athletic success this year, and the ladies exemplify what it means to be a student-athlete,” said Kaden Huntrods, head coach of the NSU swim team. “Each year, we break out into goal-setting groups, and a big part of our academic goal was to break the top five in Division II, and they knocked it out of the park.”

The recognition by the CSCAA underscores the high standards of academic achievement at Northern State University. Northern is committed to fostering an environment where student-athletes can excel in both their sports and their studies, and this honor highlights the success of that commitment.

Northern State University extends its congratulations to the swim team for their remarkable achievement and thanks them for their hard work and dedication.
