
ABERDEEN, S.D. – The top winners of the 42nd annual Northern South Dakota Science and Mathematics Fair have been announced, earning all-expenses-paid trips to the prestigious International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will take place May 10-16 in Columbus, Ohio.
The senior high team project winners are Anna Ahlberg and Corban Landis from Aberdeen Central High School, recognized for their project, AI Personalized 3D Printing of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement.
Two individual students also earned the opportunity to represent the region at ISEF:
- Kirra Stillman, Aberdeen Central High School, with her project, Anthocyanin in Zooxanthellae: Combating Coral Bleaching
- Breckan Santjer, Aberdeen Central High School, with the project, Food Additives and Their Effects on Enzyme Activity
These exceptional students were selected from among 195 participants representing 12 area schools at the event, hosted by Northern State University on March 27. Projects were evaluated by a panel of 35 judges, with public viewing and a celebratory awards ceremony held later that day.
