ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern Fort Playhouse will showcase their talents at historic Fort Sisseton for an exciting 18th season.
Northern Fort Playhouse will kick off their performances on July 12 with "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and "The Feral Child." Both shows will be performed on July 12-14, 19-21, and 26-27.
"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is a comical, quirky 2005 musical written by Rachel Sheinkin. This Tony Award-winning musical comedy takes place at Putnam Valley Middle School, where a unique group of adolescents compete to become the spelling bee champ.
"The Feral Child" by Rand Higbee is a comedy based around Mary, a girl who believes she is a cat. At just 3 years old, her family went missing during a vacation in India. Ten years later, she was discovered living in the wild amongst tigers. Dr. James Hauser, a child psychologist, undertook the challenge of teaching her human ways, although it becomes apparent that the young girl is more acclimated to identifying as a cat.
