ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University bands will present "Celebrating Black History Month" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater.
The concert will feature performances by the Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Audrey Miller, with works by Omar Thomas, Kathy Copley, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, R. Nathaniel Dett, Marie Douglas, Florence Price, and Trombone Shorty. It will also feature guest conductor Dr. Terry Beckler and the NSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart.
All tickets are general admission and will be available at the door. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and NSU faculty and staff, and free for Northern students.
