  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University alumna Kaylee Babcock has joined the NSU Foundation as Chief Financial Officer.

    Babcock, an NSU graduate with a degree in Professional Accountancy, started the first week of March as CFO of the Foundation.

    “Kaylee is a great asset to the Foundation and University,” said NSU Foundation CEO Zach Flakus. “She is extremely intelligent and very professional. Her background and skillset will be helpful as the NSU Foundation continues to grow and find creative ways to support students and programs.”

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University School of Business faculty members Drs. Kristi Bockorny and Sal Villegas had a case study published in the Journal of Critical Incidents.

    The study, “Operating when there are no rules: An HRM dilemma in changing guidelines,” appeared in the Winter 2021 edition. According to the abstract, the study discusses the impact COVID-19 had on staffing, human resource management policy, as well as one HR director’s difficult situation.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Gov. Noem announced support for a new Business and Innovation Center at Northern State University in today’s budget address. The facility will also provide a new on-campus home for South Dakota State University’s accelerated nursing program, which is currently housed in Northern’s Mewaldt-Jensen building, and a welcoming front door to campus for Admissions and the community.

    The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dr. Hannah Walters has won a Sanford Faculty Professional Development Award for her research project, “Boutique Customer Loyalty: An Assessment of Store and Service Satisfaction.”

    Walters, NSU Assistant Professor of Marketing, said her research studies the importance of store satisfaction compared to service satisfaction in local boutique businesses.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dr. Amber Henderson has won a Sanford Faculty Professional Development Award for her research project, “Perceptions of Entrepreneurship: An Exploratory Study Applied to Lakota Cultures.”
