  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will host the 70th annual Mathematics Contest on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Barnett Center on the NSU campus.

    High school students from the region are invited to compete in one of four divisions: elementary algebra, geometry, advanced algebra and senior math.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Dr. Jon D. Schaff, professor of government at Northern State University, has written a chapter for a newly published academic book that examines the connection between literature and agrarian political theory.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Daniel Gallagher, a 2018 graduate of Northern State University, was in for a surprise during a school assembly at Aberdeen Roncalli when he was announced as a 2025 Milken Educator Award winner. The middle school science teacher received the prestigious honor, which comes with a $25,000 cash prize.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University bands will present "Celebrating Black History Month" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater.

    The concert will feature performances by the Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Audrey Miller, with works by Omar Thomas, Kathy Copley, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, R.
