  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Thunder Labs at Northern State University invites area residents to bring their creative ideas to an Ideation Workshop on Wednesday, April 19, 3-5:30 p.m. at the NSU Library.

    This is an interactive “no judging allowed” workshop designed to help aspiring tech entrepreneurs explore new, unusual, big and disruptive ideas in a supportive, low-risk environment.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dr. Steven Usitalo is part of an organization planning a commemorative event, Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul this month.

    The event, set for 1-4 p.m. April 23, marks the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which began on April 24, 1915. The Remembrance Day will include presentations on Armenian history, culture, architecture, poetry, music and food, as well as on the Armenian Genocide.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – On April 15, Northern State University student-athletes will team up with the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota in service to the Aberdeen community and region.

    Saturday is the 21st annual Day of Champions, and the Wolves will spend the day volunteering at various community organizations, performing tasks from cleaning to painting to yard cleanup.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The annual Northern State University Jazz Swing Party will be held 7-11:30 p.m. Friday, April 28.

    The public is invited to the event, which will feature live swing music at Engel’s Event Center, 209 S. Main St., Aberdeen.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will host a free Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp for area teens this summer—and Northern is hiring peer mentors to work with youth at the camp.

    The Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp, open to students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2023, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The camp will run for five weeks, starting May 30 and running through June 27, on the NSU campus.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Speech and Debate Team made it to the national quarterfinals, with two students tying for fifth place in the nation.

    Ethan Kurtz and Jacob Swanson finished as national quarterfinalists at the Pi Kappa Delta National Speech and Debate Tournament, tying for fifth place nationwide.
