    ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Theatre Program will present the play "Eurydice" in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Black Box Theater.

    Performances will run at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16, 17 and 18 as well as at 3 p.m. Feb. 19.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dr. Nuurrianti Jalli has published a policy paper with the world-renowned public policy organization, the Brookings Institution.

    The paper, titled “Disinformation and Democracy in Malaysia,” was part of the Foreign Policy Democracy in Asia project, a collaborative effort by Jalli and fellow policy experts from around the world.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University has named NSU alum and longtime regional educator Eric Kline as the Director of the Northern Academy.

    As director, Kline will support and mentor high school students enrolled in Northern Academy, a new, on-campus academy for area students taking dual-credit courses.

    “I’m privileged to serve Northern State University and the Aberdeen community by fostering a deeper partnership between local high schools and Northern and by helping high school students transition to college,” Kline said.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The South Dakota Jazz Festival Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, in the Northern State University Johnson Fine Arts Center.

    The concert will feature performances by the Two O’Clock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart. Guest artists will include Ron Parker, piano, and other local talent.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – For Itzel “Izzy” Sanchez, a first-time mom and full-time student at Northern State University, scholarships are a big help—including the South Dakota Freedom Scholarship.

    “Being able to have that help from the community just helps a lot, to not have to pull from savings that we can use for day care, or when medical stuff comes up,” said Sanchez, a junior elementary education major. “It makes a big impact.”
