    ABERDEEN, S.D. – “The Great Places Series” by artist Laura Jewell will be on display in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Gallery through April 24.

    A reception is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in the JFAC Gallery.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Chamber Singers will present the 10th annual Bach’s Lunch, honoring the 335rd birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach, on Wednesday, March 18.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Spring Jazz Concert, “March into Jazz,” will take place on Thursday, March 19, on the NSU campus.

    The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theatre. The event will feature performances by the 2 O’Clock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart; the 1 O’Clock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Terry Beckler; and the NSU Jazz Trio and Jazz Combo, both directed by Mr. Fritz Hemke.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – About 220 middle and high school students from northeast South Dakota will be on the Northern State University campus on Wednesday, March 18, for the National History Day regional competition.

    Students will present research projects as part of the competition, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon in the NSU Student Center and Missouri River Room.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Justin Fraase’s duties at Northern State University now include serving as the Vice President of Enrollment, along with maintaining his prior duties in Communications and Marketing. Fraase will take over for Dr. Jeremy Reed, who has resigned his position effective the end of May 2020.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – For the past five years, Marty Sabolo has served as the director of residence life at Northern State University. During his time at Northern, he has helped foster a thriving community for the Northern students who live on campus as well as helped raise two new residence halls.

    Sabolo, appointed by the mayor of Aberdeen, also serves as a board member of the Aberdeen Housing Authority. In January, he was appointed president of the AHA board.
