  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will continue to utilize HyFlex on campus, starting again in spring 2022.  

    HyFlex was used during the COVID-19 pandemic from fall 2020 to spring 2021. HyFlex, or “Hybrid Flexible,” includes not only face-to-face instruction but also synchronous and asynchronous online components, making it accessible to all students, whether on campus or not.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University AD Josh Moon has accepted the athletic director role at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, an NCAA Division I institution. A native of Wisconsin, Moon begins his new role on Aug. 1.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Phi Beta Lambda team has a national champion.

    Christine Stoltenberg of Stratford won first place in Contemporary Sports Issues at the virtual Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference. Stoltenberg, current NSU PBL President, also earned sixth place in Accounting Principles.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Blake Day has been named Senior Vice President of the NSU Foundation.

    In this role, Day will lead the Foundation’s development effort under the direction of the President/CEO. He will work closely with the Director of Athletics and Deans of the College of Arts and Sciences, Millicent Atkins School of Education, School of Business and School of Fine Arts. Day will also be responsible for managing principal and leadership level fundraising activities to raise private support and provide leadership for the Foundation.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Thanks to a new agreement, Northern State University graduates will now be eligible for guaranteed acceptance into the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program from SDSU located in Aberdeen.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Neal H. Schnoor, the chief of staff to the president at California State University Long Beach, will become the 18th president of Northern State University, the South Dakota Board of Regents announced Tuesday.

    Schnoor has served in his current position since 2019. As chief of staff, he represented the president in his work with internal and external constituencies to advance the mission, initiatives and relationships of the second largest university in the 23-school CSU system, serving nearly 40,000 students.more

  • The South Dakota Board of Regents announced today three candidates who are finalists to become the next president at Northern State University.

    Regent Jim Thares, who chairs the presidential search process, said the finalists will be on campus in Aberdeen later this week (June 17-18) for scheduled meetings with constituents and regents.
