  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – A reception for Northern State University student Daae An’s senior art exhibition will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the NSU Student Center.

    The exhibition, which will be on display Dec. 1-15, will include jewelry, textile design, motion graphic and graphic design. An is interested in experimental graphics and diverse media.

    An, the daughter of Eun-seong Ahn and Yeong-suk Kim, grew up in South Korea, graduating from Chi-ak high school in 2014.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Choral Winter Program will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Kline St.

    The concert will include performances by the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Early Music Ensemble, conducted by Drs. Timothy Woods and Wendy van Gent. The program will feature a variety of selections, including holiday music, such as a performance of “O Holy Night” by the Concert Choir and alumni.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University international students have a $3.7 million economic impact on the region – the fourth highest among universities in South Dakota.

    That’s according to a report, “South Dakota Benefits from International Students,” released by NAFSA: Association of International Educators.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – In two years, the Northern State University Educational Impact Campaign has raised more than $50 million—but that’s not the only fundraising success for the university and NSU Foundation.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Students in a Northern State University public relations class are hosting an awareness event next week for Northern’s sociology program.

    “Gaming Through Life” will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the lobby of Great Plains East residence hall.

    Attendees can learn about Northern’s sociology program while eating pizza and playing video games.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Students in a Northern State University public relations class are hosting an awareness event this week for the Aberdeen Curling Club.

    The event will take place at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the lobby of new Jewett Regional Science Education Center.

    A video will be shown about the Aberdeen Curling Club, and members of the club will be present to answer any questions about the organization. Attendees can also participate in a curling floor game.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – On Sunday, Nov. 17, the Northern State University Symphonic and Concert bands will present the first in a series of concerts featuring music from around the world.

    The “Explorations” concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theatre. The performance will feature pieces such as “Greek Folk Song Suite – Cesarini,” “Suite Francaise – Milhaud” and “Danzon No. 2 – Marquez.”

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Banking and Financial Services master’s degree program is now offered completely online – making it even more convenient for professionals looking to advance their career.

    The program used to require a summer residency, but students would often have to use vacation time to come to campus, said NSU School of Business Interim Dean Dr. Doug Ohmer. If it didn’t work out, they would have to wait an entire year before they could finish the program.
