  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Grace Gasperich and Annie Woodmansey will hold a senior recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Northern State University Krikac Auditorium.

    Gasperich, the daughter of Matthew and Kristen Gasperich of Aberdeen, graduated from Central High School in 2015.

    Woodmansey, the daughter of Kent and Susan Woodmansey of Pierre, graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in 2015.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University choirs will come together to celebrate the holiday season, offering their annual holiday choral concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 at First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen.

    The NSU Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Early Musick Ensemble will join forces to perform multicultural works, primarily performed by the Concert Choir, alongside many holiday works.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University Theater’s upcoming production of "The Santaland Diaries" will be performed downtown at the One-Legged Pheasant Brewery.

    "The Santaland Diaries" by David Sedaris, adapted by Joe Mantello, is a one-man show following the adventures of an out-of-work writer who takes a job as an elf in Macy's Santaland. His adventures are outlined in comic detail in this production.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Two Northern State University students placed at the recent National Collegiate Honors Conference. 

    Andrea Korvela, a Human Performance and Fitness major from Menahga, Minn., placed Second in the Health Sciences category for her poster "Effects of Beetroot Juice Supplementation on Aerobic Trained and Anaerobic Trained Female Athletes."   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Longtime Northern State University faculty member Dr. Teresa Stallings will speak at the NSU Noon Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Northern’s Williams Library.

    Stallings, who is retiring after this semester, will present “The Last Lecture I’ll Ever Give.” The event will begin at noon in the Library Round Room. Stallings, associate professor of sociology, has worked at Northern for 23 and a half years.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D.– The Northern State University Johnson Fine Arts Center will be adorned in holiday cheer as the NSU School of Fine Arts hosts its highly anticipated “Holiday Extravaganza” on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the JFAC Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater.

    This event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Ground Round Grill and Bar, located at 123 S. Sixth Street, St. Joseph, Mo. 64501.
