  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – A new collaborative program between Northern State University and the University of South Dakota will guarantee admission for five NSU Honors Program students into the USD Knudson School of Law.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Two sisters who both teach in the Harrisburg School District found a virtual way to connect their students during the pandemic.

    Northern State University alums Ellen Weber and Kaye DesLauriers continued their tradition of connecting Weber’s first grade students with DesLauriers’ high school students by using Zoom.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. Kari Papke’s path to a successful career in education started at Northern State University.

    “It was at NSU that I discovered I wanted to be a teacher,” said Papke, a 2005 NSU graduate. “Northern helped lay the foundation for my success in my career.”

    Now, she serves as Head Principal of Sioux Falls Washington High School.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – When it comes to keeping graduates in South Dakota, Northern State University continues to lead the pack.

    Two-thirds of Northern graduates, or 66 percent, stay in the state to work or further their education. That’s the same figure reported by the S.D. Board of Regents’ Graduate Placement Dashboard two years ago and it’s 13 percent more than the average among all regental institutions, which is 53 percent.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Theatre Program will present the play "God of Carnage" in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Black Box Theatre.

    Performances will run at 7:30 p.m. nightly Feb. 18-20 and at 3 p.m. Feb. 21.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Symphonic Band will present its Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, in the Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater.
