  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its two new residence halls at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, during the annual Gypsy Days celebration.

    Great Plains East and Great Plains West both opened this fall on the Northern campus. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will be held on the Great Plains East Patio.

  • Alumnus Brett Rezatto’s school ties extend beyond his degree

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Brett Rezatto, a 1999 graduate of the Northern State University history program, grew up a few blocks away from the Northern campus and swam in the Spafford Hall pool long before the Barnett Center was built.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University art department is participating in the For Freedoms 50 State Initiative: a non-partisan, nationwide campaign to use art as a platform for broad civic participation.

    Every state is encouraged to hold an event, called an “activation,” that will take place September to November 2018, concurrently with other decentralized art events across the country.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Longtime Northern State University women’s basketball coach Curt Fredrickson will serve as parade marshal for the 103rd annual NSU Homecoming Parade.

    Fredrickson retired this spring after 39 seasons with the Wolves. He left his post as the winningest coach in Northern State history with an 846-306 record, two NAIA National Championships and numerous conference titles.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Area high school students who are preparing for All-State Orchestra auditions are invited to a free educational workshop at Northern State University.

    The first-ever All-State Orchestra Workshop with the Aberdeen University-Civic Symphony will be held 7-9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Starting this fall, Northern has some exciting changes planned for intramural sports. With addition of the new turf fields on campus, Northern students will have many more opportunities and ways to play intramural sports throughout the year.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – A committee of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs has reviewed and accepted a Quality Assurance Report by the Northern State University School of Business.

    This acceptance by the ACBSP Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners is an extension of the NSU School of Business’ 2016 accreditation with the organization.
